UV Radiation

Bacteria-killing ultraviolet radiation is part of the sun’s naturally occurring radiation. However, this is absorbed by the ozone layer and does not reach the earth’s surface. Of all types of ultraviolet radiation, UVC light with a wavelength of 253.7 nm is the most effective at removing viruses, fungi, germs, etc. UVC radiation has been used successfully in drinking water treatment and industrial food production for several decades. This method has decisive arguments in the fight against viruses, germs and bacteria: UVC radiation penetrates into the genetic material of bacteria, fungi and viruses. This prevents reproduction through damage to DNA or RNA, as the germs have no protection against UVC rays.
A large number of studies prove the effectiveness and the necessary radiation doses to eliminate viruses such as SARS-CoV-2.

Ultraviolet (UV) light is invisible to the human eye. It can be divided into three ranges.
